- KVAR
KVAR is an Intelligent Motor Controller (IMC) and is capable of fine tuning the electrical motors. This fine tuning reduces heat generation, reduces Amperage and results in reduced consumption of electricity (KW-hr) through Optimizing the Power Factor (PF) of the individual load.
The way KVAR saves energy is by reclaiming storing and supplying power to inductive motors and loads. All induction loads consume two kinds of power, one is Reactive Power and the other is working power or KW.
The active power performs the useful work. The reactive power's only function is to develop magnetic fields around the induction windings. The KVAR unit works on power factor optimizer technology and reduces the reactive load with out affecting the electric magnetic field (EMF). The power reclaimed and recycled by the KVAR unit would normally be pushed back through the power distribution line.
The KVAR unit stores the reactive power needed for the creation of the EMF within the inductive load. As the motor operates, this reactive power is pulled and pushed to and from the KVAR unit as needed by the motor. As a result of providing reactive power locally, motors run cooler, more efficient. This equates to significant money savings and longer equipment life.
